New 2021 Mercedes-Benz G-Glass Launched In Europe

Mercedes-Benz has finally launched the new 2021 G-Class in the European market. The automaker has made subtle design and feature updates on both the outside and the inside.

Mercedes-Benz has recently updated its most-popular mid-size 4WD luxury SUV, the G-Glass for the 2021 model year. The updates are extended to its aesthetics, equipment, personalization and much more. The new model of the SUV will first go on sale in the European market from September 2020. Looking at the success of the carmaker in the Indian market, one can expect the new G-Glass to hit the Indian shores by the first half of next year.

One of the most significant updates of the new G-Class is that its diesel-powered G400d trim will be offered in all variants and configurations. There is also a new ‘Desert’ drive mode that adjusts the gear shifts, throttle response, and ESP levels to make the 2021 G-Class a more capable off-roader. Parking package including reverse parking camera, which is offered as a standard fitment. The new 2021 G-Class is also offered with three new colour shade options namely- Classic Grey, Deep Green, and China Blue. Talking about the personalization options, the Night Package is available without having to opt for the AMG Line or Stainless Steel Package. It consists of heat-insulating extra-tinted glass, darkened lamps, and Obsidian Black Metallic accents outside. The luxury off-roader sits on 20-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The same set of wheels were earlier available only with the AMG line.

The alloy wheel colour options include High-gloss Black and Himalaya Grey. The cabin of the car is now offered with Widescreen Cockpit and frameless IRVM as standard. The new Mercedes-Benz G350d derives power from a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel unit that produces 282 bhp of peak power and 600Nm of twisting force. On the other hand, the higher G400d trim churns out power and torque outputs of 326 bhp and 700 Nm. Both the powertrain option comes paired with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed TC automatic gearbox. The top-of-the-line Mercedes-AMG G63 is propelled by a 4.0-litre V8 gasoline mill, which puts out 577 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are done by a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT automatic gearbox.
