Geely Icon is claimed to be a Coronavirus-beater SUV
Nearly 100,000 people in the world have been affected by coronavirus, with the death toll of over 3,000 people. As there is no vaccine available, this deadly virus has spread at a very fast pace. It has had detrimental effects on not only the socio-economic state of China but also all over the world as well, especially nearby countries like India. One of its biggest global impacts of the virus is the cancellation of the Gevena Auto Show. In response to this widespread virus, Chinese car manufacturer Geely has launched the Icon for the Chinese auto market and described the production of its purification as “developed in record time”.
Geely Icon uses an extremely advanced air-filtration system for the cabin
The Icon’s purification system is N95 certified, which indicates that it can block no less than 95% of particles which measure 0.3 microns from entering the cabin. The system is claimed to work with the air-conditioning system to keep the cabin healthy and clean. Nevertheless, coronavirus particles measure from 0.05 to 0.2 microns in diameter, which means that the new system may not be able to completely prevent the coronavirus. However, the Chinese carmaker still claimed that over 30,000 pre-bookings for the new SUV have been received online.

In terms of looks, the Icon is quite a handsome car
The Greely Icon receives its power from a 1.5-litre turbo gasoline burner in combination with a 48V mild hybrid system. While the former can develop 184 BHP against 225 Nm, the latter can generate an extra 13 BHP and 45 Nm. The transmission duties are implemented by a 7-speed DCT. The SUV can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in under 8 seconds.
