The bookings for the Kia Sonet have commenced several days ago before its launch which is expected to occur in mid-September. The Kia Sonet will be offered with three motor and five transmission which translate into five motor combinations. The compact SUV will be available in six variants: five in the Tech Line and one in the GT Line. The Kia Sonet will compete against the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300, etc. in the fiercely competitive compact SUV segment.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will become the second model under the Suzuki-Toyota venture after the Toyota Glanza, which is based on the Maruti Baleno. Like the Baleno/Glanza strategy, the Toyota Urban Cruiser will be based on the newest version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The two SUVs, besides sharing the same underpinnings, also have some similar exterior and interior features. Nevertheless, to distinguish the two SUVs from each other, the Japanese automaker will do some visual alterations both in terms of the exterior and interior to its SUV, like revised front and upholstery. Like the Kia Sonet, the Urban Cruiser is expected to be launched in the Indian auto market in mid-September.

The Mercedes-Benz EV-specific EQ brand for the Indian auto market was launched in January 2020. The first EQ model for the Indian auto market, the EQC, which is based on the GLC’s platform, was initially slated for launch in April 2020. Nevertheless, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EV’s launch has been delayed. Now, it has been confirmed to be launched this month. The vehicle receives its power from two electric motors which can generate a combined maximum power of 402 BHP against 760 Nm. The EQC can deliver an impressive driving range of 450 kilometres in one charge (NECD cycle). The EV is expected to be quite expensive with a price of over INR 1 core.
