Mahindra Electric To Offer EV Solutions For Fleet Operators

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd is gambling big for electric future for automobiles in India, and aims to boost its EV sales in India by catering to Fleet Operators.

Mahindra had showcased a huge fleet of cars at the Auto Expo 2020, and most of them were electric. The carmaker is betting on an electric future for India. Mahindra launched the eKUV100 at the Auto 2020 at a price tag of Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The newly launched EV looks quite attractive and proportionate. Moreover, they have also displayed a new electric three-wheeler named Treo. Mahindra Atom was one of the main attractions at the Auto Expo 2020, which is a quadricycle. The Atom is a potential autorickshaw replacement. It gets propelled by an electric motor and comes loaded with some convenience features like an air-conditioner and a small touchscreen infotainment display.

 The carmaker claims that the eKUV100 can offer 150 km range in one full charge

Mahindra has noticed a good opportunity in such electric vehicles for fleet operations. Moreover, for the private buyers, the carmaker will also introduce the eXUV300 (electric XUV300) in India in the near future. Its closest competitor will beTata Nexon EV. The eXUV300 will offer a range of 370 km in one full charge, which is more than its Tata rival. As for the eKUV100, the electric car is stores power in a liquid-cooled battery pack along with a 15.9 kWh electric motor, which develops 54 bhp of power and 120 Nm of twisting force.

The carmaker claims that the eKUV100 can offer 150 km range in one full charge. Moreover, it can charge from 0 to 80 per cent in just in 55 minutes using the fast-charging option. In terms of looks, the eKUV100 looks almost identical to the ongoing KUV100. On the exterior, the car features LED headlamps, with LED DRLs, 3D alloy wheels, LED taillamp and some blue accents. The cabin of the electric car features a touchscreen infotainment system, power windows, phone charging socket and steering mounted controls.
