The next-generation Volkswagen Vento (VW Polo) has been officially unveiled for the Russian market. Technically, the Russia-spec next-gen VW Vento comes as a distant cousin of the Russian-spec new Skoda Rapid. The all-new car now looks more like a liftback rather than a conventional sedan in the previous-gen models. The new-gen VW Vento now measures 4,483 mm long, 1,706 mm wide and 1,484 mm high, which makes it 93 mm longer, 7 mm wider and 17 mm higher than the earlier car. It also features a 550-litre boot space that has been enhanced by 90 litres over the outgoing version.
As far as the design goes, the 2020 VW Vento for Russia looks a tad classier than the preceding version. It comes with a bolder front face and a more sophisticated rear fascia, thus giving the car a more exciting look. The side profile of the Vento, however, looks a bit dull with no special cosmetic revisions.

Inside the cabin, the Russian-spec Vento sees a remarkable makeover in its interior package. In line with the latest global-spec VW cars, the new VW car gets a minimalist styling design but still scores well in in the premium quotient.

The highlighting interior features comprise of a floating 8.25-inch Composition touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supports, a 10.25-inch Active Info Display instrument cluster along with ambient lighting, USB type-C port and more.
The 2020 Volkswagen Vento for Russia will employ 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engines along with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor unit. While the 1.6-litre engines might come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol burner will be available with a 7-speed DCT as standard. For India, we will receive a different, more advanced next-gen Volkswagen Vento that is built on the MQB A0 IN platform in the coming years.
