Following the newly-launched VW Tiguan AllSpace and imminent VW T-Roc, the Skoda Karoq will be fully-loaded with premium features such as full-LED headlamps, 18-inch Trinity alloy wheels and LED rear lamps as some confirmed exterior fitments.

Also, panoramic sunroof, Virtual Cockpit, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, dual-zone temperature control, ambient lighting, Stone-beige leatherette upholstery, etc. are parts of the interior highlights of the new Karoq SUV for India.

As far as safety is concerned, the upcoming Skoda Karoq will be fitted with 9 airbags, Parktronic system, tyre pressure monitoring system, ESC, multi-collision brake among others.

For now, the Skoda Karoq will be available with a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine only. It is capable of delivering a healthy power of 150 HP at 5,000 – 6,000 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 – 3,500 rpm and comes coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It is claimed to do 0 – 100 kmph acceleration in 9 seconds and has a top speed of 202 kmph.

Entering the market as a CBU unit, the price of the Skoda Karoq is expected to be on a steeper side compared to the current compact SUV of India. The new Karoq is likely to cost around Rs 30 Lakh (estimated, ex-showroom) but it might be locally assembled in our country in case there’s enough demand. The all-new Skoda Karoq will see the fierce rivalry from the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson facelift which is expected to sit in the Rs 20 Lakh price point.
