Skoda Introduce new Features in Rapid Onyx and Monte Carlo

The Czech carmaker Skoda has recently introduced new styling updates for two variants of its entry-level sedan, Rapid. In the Indian market, the Skoda sedan is offered in six different variants namely- Rider, Rider Plus, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. Out of all these trims, the mid-spec Onyx and Mote Carlo have been updated with new styling elements. It is quite interesting to see that how these changes have been brought without any price change.

The mid-spec Onyx variant has been updated with several silver accents on the outside. This consists of a new silver-coloured cap for the wing mirrors, a silver split lip spoiler and a new silver stripe running down the side of the sedan, which replaced the black highlights offered earlier. This silver treatment has also been done on the roof of the car, which was earlier offered in body colour. The Skoda Rapid Onyx is offered with piano black rims. The silver and blue combination along with piano black alloy wheels gives a very unique look to the sedan. The top-spec Monte Carlo trim has been updated with similar kind of updates. The Monte Carlo variant of the sedan already looks very smart as the red colour shade of the car gels up quite well with several blacked-out accents.

The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo gets a piano black grille, contrasting black roof, a rear diffuser, blacked-out side mirrors, blacked-out window surrounds, a rear lip spoiler and two-tone rims. It now features an additional split lip spoiler upfront and new side skirts. The carmaker has made no change inside the cabin of both trims of Rapid. Skoda Rapid derives power from a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is capable of shredding out 110bhp of peak power and 175 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim.
