BMW India has silently updated the X7’s lineup in the Indian market by introducing a new xDrive30d DPE trim at a price tag of Rs 92.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As compared to the top-of-the-line trim of X7, the new entry-level variant is Rs 6.40 lakh cheaper. Earlier, the xDrive40i was imported in the country, but the carmaker has started offering it as a CKD (Completely Knocked down) unit in M Sport guise, which retails at Rs 1.07 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Mechanically, the luxury SUV remains the same as it continues to derive power from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel and petrol engines, which produces 265 bhp (xDrive30d) and 340 bhp (xDrive40d). The transmission duties are done by an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Moreover, the SUV offers some standard safety features like seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill descent control, ABS, traction control, ESC and ISOFIX child seat anchor.
Furthermore, it comes loaded with features like LED headlamps, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, air suspension, launch control 4-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, powered rear window sunshades and a fully digital instrument cluster. On the other hand, the six-seat configuration xDrive30d DPE offers some additional features like electric tailgate, “Laser” headlights, 5-zone automatic climate control, rear-seat touchscreen, ventilated and heated front seats along with 360-degree parking camera. After the launch of BMW’s BSVI compliant line-up, the price of this model got increased by Rs 3.60 lakh. BMW Indian is also planning to expand the X7 line-up by introducing M50d in the near future.

The new variant of the BMW X7 will get propelled by a 3.0-litre, in-line, six-cylinder, quad-turbocharged, oil-burner, which churns out 400 hp of peak power and 760 Nm of twisting force. BMW X7 competes with the likes of Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS in the Indian market.
