BMW 220i Sport Launched in India at Rs 37.90 Lakhs

The German luxury carmaker BMW has recently introduced the new base trim of 220i Sport in our market at a price tag of Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BMW 2-series is based on the company’s modular FAAR platform with a front-wheel-drive configuration. The 220d Sport line is retailed at Rs 40.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 220i M Sport is priced at Rs 40.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the top-spec 220d M Sport carries a price tag of Rs 42.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the outside, the continues to get company's signature kindey grille. The front fascia of the car also gets aggressive looking headlamps with sharp LED DRLs.

Being a coupe, it features a sloping roofline, which ends in a fastback-like rear-end. It also gets pillar-less doors, which can be seen as soon as you open them. The BMW 2 series Grand Coupe employs an extended spoiler along with the sleeping L-shaped LED taillights at the back, and it gives a sporty as well as an aggressive look to the car.

The BMW 220i Sport is offered in four unique looking colour shades namely- Alpine White, Storm Bay, Melbourne Red and Black Sapphite and also two upholstery options- Sensatec Oyster Black and Sensatec Black. The cabin of the car gets an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, ABS with EBD, traction control, 5.1-inch digital instrument console, electrically parking brake, paddle shifters and much more. It derives power from a 2.0-litre petrol unit, which develops 192bhp of power and 280 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are done by an 8-speed AT.
