The compact SUV market has been teeming as ever with 40% of the SUV market share. It comes as no surprise that the niche segment has been the most rapidly growing segment over the last 5 years. As a result, there are a handy of compact SUV launches in early 2019, including the XUV300 in 14th February.
So far, Mahindra XUV300 has been introduced exactly one month. Mahindra has recently announced to receive 13,000 bookings for the sub-compact SUV. In which, the top-specs variants serve as over 75% of total booking.

Speaking about the booking milestone, the Chief of Sales and Marketing in Automotive Divison from Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Veejay Ram Nakra has stated to the media that the company was extremely pleased with the overwhelming interactions to the new XUV300. Since the XUV300 can position in this highly competitive market of compact SUV, M&M expressed their cheer with 13,000 booking orders, in which 75% are for the top trims. In the pipeline with the goal of achieving 15-20% segment share, he also reaffirmed that "the XUV300 proposition has resonated well with the customers".
Been on sales with the starting price at Rs 7.9 Lakh in ex-showroom, the Mahindra XUV300 has been manufactured at the facility in Nasik. The compact SUV is available in 3 variants which are W4, W8, and W6, and an optional (O) with the top-specs trim.

The sub four metre SUV comes with two turbocharged engine options from Mahindra including
Underpowered 1.2 litre petrol
1.5 litre diesel
The underpowered is available in the three-cylinder mill which can produce 81 kW (110 bhp) at 5,000 rpm in terms of max power. The number of 200 Nm torque can be churned out in the range from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. Regarding to fuel economy, the figure is 17 km/l with the petrol and 20 km/l with the diesel.
