At the price range of Rs 4.6 – 6.6 Lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), the Tata Tiago is quite a fun-to-drive yet affordable car in the country’s hatchback segment. With its unique selling points being the good build quality, exterior and interior aesthetics, feature-rich cabin, the Tiago has made itself very competitive to garner a band of fan-followers. However, Tata Tiago joined the competition of best-selling vehicles where the Maruti Alto, Renault Kwid, Hyundai Santro or Maruti Celerio, etc. are leading the games with their value-for-money quotients. Besides, Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai are always well-known for the reliability in the easy maintenance and low service costs. So how Tata Tiago can hog the limelight of the largest-selling brand like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai? Let’s find out in this article where you can find all details on Tata Tiago service costs, intervals, service schedules, etc. to know what you have to pay before buying the vehicle.
It is strongly recommended that Tiago’s car owners should take their cars to Tata’s authorized service shops after clocking 1500 km on the odo or 2 months from the date of the purchase. The second service can commence when your car has reached 7500 km of driving or after 6 months of using while the third check-up should be conducted at 15,000 km / 12 months of driving.
Tata offers its customers with free maintenance including the free car check-up and wash for the first two services. After that, the subsequent services will be charged. The Tata Tiago service intervals will be given in the table below. Technically, the Tiago can be serviced bi-annually or in other words, twice a year.

During the first service of the Tata Tiago which is scheduled at 1500 km or 2 months from the date of buying, whichever comes first, not much would be done for the car except for the free car check-up and car wash. The second service is conducted at 7500 km/ 6 months, again whichever is earlier, offers the customers with normal engine oil and oil filter only, then the car says goodbye to the service centre until the next service pack. The service cost of the Tata Tiago is not really high thanks to the affordable parts and labour costs indicated by Tata. While Tata Motors has been known for bad after-sales services, that’s not the case for the Tata Tiago. To give you an example, the replacement of engine oil and oil filter (including tax) would be charged at Rs 1375 for petrol and Rs 1775 for the diesel-powered car.
The reason for the cost-discrepancy between the petrol and diesel car is that the quantity of engine oil used with the respective engines is different. The air filter replacement will be equal for both types with the cost being at Rs 300.
