Interesting facts
1. Logo meaning
The car logo of Maruti Suzuki has experienced changes over the company’s history. In the previous one, the names of the two companies were positioned on top of each other. On the other hand, in the new one, their names are placed next to each other. While the font has been kept intact, the colours have been made lighter to make the logo more vivid. The previous tag line “Count on us” has given way to “Way of Life”. One interesting fact is that the car emblem of Maruti cars consists of only the Suzuki logo, which can be explained by the high share of Suzuki in the company, up to over 56%. However, the cars produced by this automaker still come with Maruti, then Suzuki and finally, the model, owing to the Indian customer’s sentiments in which Maruti is more familiar than Suzuki.
2. First model launch
The first Maruti model to be launched in India was the Maruti 800, which was launched in the country on December 14, 1983, and available until 2014.
