1000 Units of Kona EV to be Brought to India by Hyundai

This is the first time that a new vehicle of the price range from Rs 25 lakhs to Rs 30 lakhs has been introduced into the Indian auto market. Nevertheless, the price may vary, depending on the time of launching because Hyundai is trying its best to get the subsidy from the Indian government under the Central Government’s EV mobility plans.

Hyundai is planning to introduce 1000 units of Hyundai Kona EV to Indian auto market

The Kona will be available with two options of batteries, a 39.2kWh and a 64kWh. The former can produce 133bhp with 394Nm of torque, increase the speed from a standstill to 100kmph within 9.3 seconds and can travel within a solid distance of 300km. The latter can churn out 200bhp with 394Nm of torque, can accelerate from 0-100kmph within 7.6 seconds, and can travel for a distance of 470km per charge.

The Hyundai Kona EV is powered by two battery options

Thanks to the 100kW fast charger, the battery of the Kona EV can be charged up to 80% in only 54 minutes for the long distance. The battery can also be charged by the standard AC plug in a little more than 9.5 hours for the long distance and a little more than 6 hours for the short distance. The new SUV earned the highest safety scores in the Euro NCAP crash test and also received the reputable 2018 Red Dot Design Award.
