The overall design of the Dzire's dash looks better than the City, however, quality of the plastic could've been a little better.

On the inside, Maruti Dzire is a car that is designed with much more elegance in comparison to Honda City. To make Maruti Dzire cabin look more premium, it gets faux wooden inserts on the dashboard and the flat-bottom steering wheel and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The interior of the Honda City is done in a sweet combination of beige and black. The black dashboard has some silver plastic inserts to light up the ambience. However, there are piano black inserts used the vents and the centre stack where the ICE is housed. That said, the interior design of the Dzire look far more appealing but its the quality and fit-finish levels on the Honda City that are far more superior.

Exterior Comparison

Upfront, Maruti Dzire looks quite identical to the latest-gen Swift. It gets a bold looking grille, surrounded by some premium looking chrome. Illumination duties are handled by projector headlamps with LED DRL and fog lamps. The side profile of the compact sedan looks quite chic as it employs 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, driver side keyless entry, electrically retractable ORVM with integrated side indicators, and blacked-out B-pillar. The rear profile of the Maruti Dzire features LED taillight, a smart-looking chrome strap adjoining both the taillights, parking sensors and Maruti badging. Moreover, Maruti Dzire is being offered in six-unique colour shade options.

On the other hand, Honda City carries a dominating fascia at the front. It gets a blacked-out honeycomb mesh grille along with a broad chrome belt with Honda logo. For better illumination, the premium sedan employs LED headlamp with LED DRL and fog lamps. The side profile of the car looks smart, the aggressive lines and creases gel quite well with the overall design language of the car. Moreover, it features 16-inch, diamond-cut alloy wheels, electronically adjustable ORVM with integrated side blinkers and chrome door handles. Completing the overall picture with a sporty looking rear, which offers LED taillight, shark-fin antenna, trunk lid spoiler with integrated stop light and some premium chrome inserts. Colour shades offered with the Honda City are White, Red, Silver, Brown, and Steel.

Maruti Dzire also gets some standard safety features like ABS with EBS, brake assist, dual airbags, reverse parking. In terms of safety features, Honda City gets 6-airbags, rain-sensing wipers, ABS with EBD, auto headlamp on and off, rear parking camera and engine immobilizer.

Front driver and passengers seats provide a good amount of under-thigh support and side support. On the other hand, the rear passenger seat lacks some under-thigh support, but the legroom and headroom are quite impressive. Infotainment needs are handled by a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. Moreover, the compact sedan also gets automatic climate control, rear A/C vents, steering mounted controls, phone charging sockets, and bottle and glass holders. The instrument panel comprises an analogue odometer and speedometer along with a TFT digital display in the middle which provides information regarding fuel, temperature, time, gear indicator and odometer.

On the other hand, Honda City feels more spacious and premium as compared to Maruti Dzire. It offers leather upholstery along with ample amount of headroom and under-thigh support for front-seat passengers. The rear seats offer a plush amount of legroom but the headroom could have been better. Features offered with Honda City are driver seat height adjuster, engine start/stop button, electric sunroof, rear A/C vents, steering mounted controls, power outlet ports and Auto A/C with Touch Control Panel.

The instrument cluster on the City features an analogue odometer on the left, a speedometer in the middle along with a digital display on the right which provides all the relevant information regarding the vehicle. It also gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. Both the sedans are quite premium on the inside and come loaded with some decent amount of features.

The Maruti Dzire derives power from a 1.2-litre 4-pot petrol unit that produces 83 PS of power and 113 Nm of twisting force. The sedan also features a gets a 1.3-litre oil-burner which puts out 75 PS and 190 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT and AMT.
