2018 Maruti Ertiga to Offer New 1.5-liter Petrol and Diesel SHVS engine

The 7 seater Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV which is the second generation of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga made its world debut at Indonesia in April 2018. It is now on schedule to go on sale in India. Heading towards a festive launch next month, the new Ertiga will be retailed from NEXA showrooms.

As regard of the performance, the new Ertiga will offer a 1.5-liter petrol engine which delivers 104.7 PS power and 138 Nm torque which is far away from 1.4-liter petrol engine of the current Ertiga. Maruti Suzuki has also offered the same engine in the new Ciaz.

In particular, the diesel engine will be mated to 6-speed manual transmission, whilst, the petrol will get 5 speed MT and AT. The mileage is expected to be around 20 kmpl with petrol engine and 25 kmpl with diesel engine. 

As for the exterior, the in-bound India spec Ertiga will receive LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps and new 16” wheels.

Interiors will be seen with a 7” touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and refreshed upholstery. In terms of safety, the 2018 Ertiga gets pushbutton start/stop, automatic climate controls, dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors and ABD with EBD.

In general, it will have increased dimensions as compared to the outgoing model resulting in added interior space and spacious third-row seating.

Once officially launched in India, the new Ertiga will have to take the likes of two severe rivals which are Renault Lodgy and Honda BR-V.
