2. Tata Tigor EV Design: Exterior

Front View

In its latest avatar, the Tata Tigor electric car looks mostly the same as the regular Tigor facelift except for some special elements to set it apart. It comes with a revised front fascia sporting new glossy-black diamond grille with chrome highlights, refreshed projector headlamps and LED DRLs, revamped bumper together with redesigned fog lamp enclosure with blue accents. There’s also an EV badge in a shade of blue mounted on an end of the grille to signalise the electric iteration.

The front of Tata Tigor EV will be packed with some new features such as newly-designed bumpers, a glossier bonnet, etc.

Side View

In the side profile, the Tigor EV receives EV decals in blue so as to redefine its eco-friendly stature. The coupe-inspired profile of the Tigor electric does enhance the sporty stance of the car to a greater level. The ORVMs are blacked out and the 15-inch alloy wheels (for the XT only) looks pretty stylish.

Rear View

Finally, the rear end of the Tata Tigor looks almost identical to that of the standard ICE version, again, barring the EV badge. The C-shaped LED tail lamps, blacked-out rear bumper, roof-mounted piano black shark-fin antenna and LED high-mounted stop lamps are the key features at the rear of the electric vehicle.

The Tigor EV doesn’t stray far from its base model when it comes to the size. The electric sedan measures 3,992 mm long, 1,677 wide and 1,537 high and 2,450 mm in the wheelbase. From these, the Tata Tigor EV is just mm shorter in length than the Tigor while sharing the same width and wheelbase with its twin. The electric car is slightly higher than the regular model while getting a better ground clearance of 176 mm as against that of Tigor’s 170 mm.

The interior of the Tata Tigor electrical vehicle is packed with a number of advanced features and techs as well as a complete kit of safety features and a 5-seat cabin.

It’s really cool for a budget-end electric compact sedan to pack itself with a good comfort features list. Some of the key interior features of the Tigor EV include multi-drive modes, fully-automatic climate control, adjustable front headrests, 4-door power windows, remote entry fob, roof lamp, sunvisor, integrated stereo with AM/FM, USB, AUX-IN, iPod and Bluetooth by Harman, front bottle & cup holder, gear knob, front power outlet among others.

You know that Tata has been taking safety very seriously when it comes to the development of its new-age products. The same happens to the latest Tata Tigor eV as well. The standard safety features of the Tata Tigor EV comprise of driver and co-driver airbags (except the XE+ variant), ABS, rear parking sensor, driver seatbelt reminder, seatbelt with pre-tensioners & load limiters, automatic door lock, engine immobilizer, 2-side view mirror and 1 rear view mirror.

Space and seating

The cabin of this compact sedan can accommodate up to 5 people. The driver seat’s heights can be electrically adjusted; all the passengers’ seats are provided with adjustable headrest. All of these contribute to the flexibility of the vehicle.

5. Tata Tigor EV Specifications: How Does Tata Tigor EV Perform?

The Tata Tigor EV features a 21.5 kWh battery and a 72V 3-phase AC Induction electric motor which can deliver 40 bhp of power and 105 Nm of torque. The current Tigor EV comes with a claimed range of 213 km for the extended range Tigor EV and 142 km for the standard Tigor EV model. AC and DC fast charging are parts of the package. The power is delivered to the front wheels through a single-speed transmission.

In terms of performance, the Tata Tigor EV doesn’t feel really fast. However, the electric sedan gets the job done fairly well in the city traffics. You may feel it underpowered sometimes with the power-to-weight ratio determines the sluggish performance.

The Tata Tigor EV is expected to have a mileage of 100km per 100% charge. Factors affecting the distance/charge include vehicle dynamics, car maintenance and kerb weight. Generally, a distance coverage range of 80km to 100km can be anticipated.
