Mercedes-Benz has revealed the 750hp EQ Silver Arrow at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It is inspired by the modernized high-speed record breakers in the 1930s.

To be more specific, the impressive the 750hp EQ Silver Arrow has borrowed the idea from 80-year-old W125 Rekordwagen, offering a 735hp 5.6-litre V12 petrol engine which could accelerate to a record speed of 433kph when driven to the public road in 1938. More than 80 years have passed; this spectacular vehicle has still been a source of inspiration to the present stylistic and aerodynamic developments of the German automaker and the EQ models in the future.

Unregularly made, the single-seater is based around an extended version of Mercedes-Benz’s new MEA platform on which adopts a flat floor to store battery modules. Its body is made of carbon fibre and painted silver in appreciation of the W125.

Like the W125 Rekordwagen, which was developed around Mercedes-Benz’s Grand Prix car of the time, the EQ Silver Arrow looks like a single seat pilot compartment. The interior was mostly covered with leather and wood. It is also equipped with a large main digital display and steering wheel with a secondary display. All of these contribute to its innovative appearance.
