Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Off-Road Accessories Pack Trim Could Launch in India

Ford has recently trademarked the Endeavour BaseCamp Edition brand name in India, thereby hinting at an imminent launch of the special edition model in our country

The American automaker Ford has recently introduced the Endeavour Sport Edition in India at Rs 35.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). According to a recent report, the carmaker has trademarked the Endeavour BaseCamp Edition in India. Ford introduced the Everest BaseCamp in New Zealand and Australia last year. In the BaseCamp trim, the SUV is offered with an off-road accessory package. In foreign markets, the Everest BaseCamp pack consists of LED light bar, a nudge bar, bonnet protector, a Pioneer roof rack platform and carry bars, a snorkel, sunseeker awning and a tow bar.

Talking about the accessories, the SUV gets roof luggage bag, Rhino-Rack batwing awning, roof basket, ski racks, kayak rack, a nudge bar, underbody lighting and a bull bar. Details about the upcoming India-spec Ford Endeavour BaseCamp Edition are still undercover. Like the one offered in the international markets, the India-spec model will be powered by the same power plant. The ongoing model of the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre, BS6-compliant diesel engine, which is tuned to develop 170 PS of peak power and 420 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are done by a 10-speed automatic gearbox. As compared to the BS4 model, the new BS6-compliant Endeavour is claimed to be 14 per cent more fuel-efficient.

In the Australian market, the Ford Everest BaseCamp retails at $2000, which is around Rs 1 lakh costlier over the ongoing model. In our market, Ford Endeavour is offered in three different trim levels namely- Titanium 4X2 AT, Titanium Plus 4X2 AT and Titanium Plus 4X4 AT. It is retailed at a starting price of Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry-level Titanium 4X2 AT trim and goes all the way up to Rs 34.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec Titanium Plus 4X4 variant. The newly-introduced Endeavour Sport Edition is priced at Rs 35.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The upcoming BaseCamp Edition is expected to be priced around Rs 35.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its official launch date and details are yet to be revealed by the carmaker.
