Limited-Run MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition Launched At Rs 41.7 Lakh

MINI India has recently introduced a special edition for its 3-door hatch, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition which is available for sale with only 15 units. The MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition carries a decent price tag of Rs 41.7 lakh in India (ex-showroom) and enters the market via the CBU route.

Looking back, MINI’s driver Paddy Hopkirk (Patrick Barron Hopkirk) had created quite a significant milestone in Mini’s legacy when he led the auto brand to triumph at the Monte Carlo Rally. Hence, MINI introduced the limited-edition Paddy Hopkirk as a tribute to the racing legend as well as his brilliant victory.

To make it special, the company has given the Paddy Hopkirk Special Edition’s design a lot of uniqueness. The exterior of the car gets a dual-tone Red & White paint scheme that really catches our eyes. The front, side, rear pillars and ORVMs of the MINI’s hatch are all blacked out, thereby complementing the sporty elements of the vehicle. However, the biggest talking point here should be the white racing stripe featuring Hopkirk’s signature and characters “33EJB” on the hood and tail. The characters indicate the number plate of the 1964 Mini car that won the rally. A big number 37 makes it to the doors that signify the number of the Monte Carlo rally-wining car as well.

The cabin of the MINI Paddy Hopkirk Special Edition doesn’t stray far from the regular model, except for some specific elements like Hopkirk’s signature on the dash and illuminated scuff plates, black leatherette seat’s upholstery with piano black inserts. Apart from these, the Paddy Hopkirk Special Edition also features ambient lighting, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera among others. Safety-wise, the MINI Paddy Hopkirk is offered with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Cornering Brake Control, Brake Assist, Dynamic Crash Sensor among others.

Just like the standard Cooper S, the limited-run Paddy Hopkirk Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 192 HP and 280 Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. At roughly Rs 41.7 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), the MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition is Rs 6 lakh more expensive than the standard Mini Cooper S.
