Mahindra's new SUV arrives at car dealer, ready to be launched

Mahindra is going to launch its new SUV. The new car is based on the Ssang Yong Tivoli. It is anticipated to launch this year. It is been known that the new cars have been actively tested in the recent time. And it seems that it is ready to be introduced. Some spy spots reveal the arrival of these cars at the Mahindra’s dealers in Karnataka.

The new compact SUV has the seating capacity of five. And it will be pit against Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza on the segment of sub-four-meter cars. The other SUV from Mahindra - Mahindra TUV300 will not compete against the new SUV as the TUV 300 is at the lower segment.

The compact SUV will definitely on the premium side with more features and higher quality. More specifically, it will feature projector headlamps, LED taillights, sunroof for the exterior. Considering the interior, there will be dual climate control, seven-inch infotainment system, front and rear disc brakes. In terms of safety feature, multiple airbags will be available. With these features, it promises to offer a great comfort for passengers.

Inspired by the Tivoli, new SUV is spied taking the similar dashboard from the Tivoli. The central console, the instrument cluster, as well as the steering wheel of these two cars,  look alike. Unlike the Tivoli, the new SUV might not get the same feature list and possibly miss some features like dual-zone climate controls, ventilated leather upholstery seats, heated electric rearview mirror, and front parking sensors.

About the engine, it is expected to take on the 1.6-liter engine which is the result of the collaboration of Mahindra and Ssang Yong. Until now, there is nothing to be known about this new engine. The other possible option is the 1.5-liter mHawk diesel engine. If the 1.5 liter is the choice, there is the chance that the transmission duty will be done by a manual gearbox along with automatic or automated manual transmission.
