The new-generation Hyundai i20 is under development. It was spotted undergoing road testing in several locations across the globe. Due to launch in 2020, the new version of the Hyundai i20 will come with extensive interior and exterior updates. Currently, Hyundai i20 was in its second generation.

Based on several spy images of the Hyundai i20, Cartoq team has crafted a rendering of the new Hyundai i10, which could help to visualize the look of the upcoming car. It is expected that new i20 will get a revised and bigger grille. Hyundai is likely to keep the traditional headlight setting with integrated day running light and projector headlamps. The new split headlights which are previously seen on the Hyundai Venue and several other upcoming models will not be featured on the Hyundai Elite i20. Suggested by the spy shots, the new bumper of Elite i20 will get a sharp and aggressive design, especially with the fog light housing. On the side profile, there is hardly any major change apart from the more prominent and sharper belt and character lines. However, these are all speculations. In fact, the Hyundai Elite i20 was always under full cover on road test, leaving us not many hints to rely on.

In the India market, Hyundai Elite i20, in all likelihood, will get the BSVI-compliant engines. It is also confirmed by the manufacturer that the diesel version will remain along with the petrol range. In the meanwhile, the leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki announced discontinuation for some of their diesel variants, especially on the small car segment.

Hyundai Elite i20 will come with both diesel and petrol engine

It is expected that Elite i20 will be offered with a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine which first appeared on the Venue. On the Venue, the petrol engine manages to provide the maximum power of 118 bhp and 172 Nm. On the other hands, the 1.4-litre diesel engine will be revised to meet the new BSVI emission norms.

After launch, third-gen Hyundai Elite i20 will compete with the likes of Toyota Glanza, Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
