Hyundai Elite i20 will also be offered in an N-Line variant, which is expected to be twice as powerful as the standard i20.

Hyundai i20 is the most-premium hatchback offering from the South-Korean manufacturer. The car is currently in its second-generation, however, and Hyundai was all set to unveil the third generation of the car to the masses soon. The car is digitally unveiled and there’s no word from the manufacturer about its public debut after the announcement of calling off the Geneva Motor Show has surfaced on the internet. Keeping the bad news aside for a moment, we have some interesting renders of the N-Line version of the next-gen Elite i20. The renders of the car have been prepared by Shoeb R. Kalania of IndianAutosBlog fame.

The i20 N will feature a powerful engine than the Polo GTI

In the renderings, it can be seen that the i20 N will feature a lot of updates to help the car perform better on the tarmac. It gets resculpted front bumper with big air inlets on the sides to cool off the brakes, an air deflector on the lower-lip, and red insert on the chin as well. The red inserts on the lowermost part of the car are also added on the sides. The car gets black side skirts with red inserts and 17-inch alloy wheels with wider low-profile stickier rubber. The brake callipers are also painted in red and do give the car a sporty appeal to match its performance quotient. The i20 N will also feature a flat-bottom steering wheel inside the car, wrapped in leather. The seats and dashboard are also expected to get red inserts alongside the contrasting red stitching as seen on the Grand i10 Nios Turbo.

The i20 N will offer a lot of performance for its size and helping it do so would be a powerful engine, larger brake discs, stiffer suspension, free-flow exhaust, and tighter steering setup. It is expected to use a bigger 1.5-litre T-GDI four-cylinder petrol motor from the i30. The motors develop 150 PS in the i30, however, it is expected to come in a different state of tune under the hood of i20 N to produce a peak power output of 200 PS. These power figures are almost double of what will be offered on the standard car. The 1.2-litre engine of the i20 will generate 83 PS of max power, while the 1.0-litre turbocharged motor is expected to make 100 PS. Compared to the figures of the i20 N, the standard engines feel a little tame.

The manufacturer will launch the standard variant of  next-gen i20 in India by around July 2020. The N-Line variant is expected to cost around Rs. 20.00 lakh in India.
