The 2020 Mahindra Thar was one of the biggest new car launches of this year. In 2021, the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 will be launched in the country. The new version of the highly popular SUV has been spied many times prior to its official launch. In fact, spy images have already revealed that the new XUV500 will be a well-equipped car with segment-leading equipment comprising semi-autonomous convenience and safety features. The testing process of the new model is underway and below is a video which shows the SUV being driven at high speeds on a highway.

When first launched in 2011, the Mahindra XUV500 was the first monocoque vehicle to be developed ground up by the home-grown auto manufacturer. The all-new XUV500 will also maintain the monocoque styling but will be underpinned by a new platform shared with Ford. A new SUV from Ford based on this platform is slated for launch in developing markets a year later from the debut of the new XUV500.

This motor is expected to generate 170 BHP against 400 Nm. The transmission duties on both of the petrol and diesel version will be undertaken by a 6-speed MT and torque convertor. While an FWD system will be offered as standard, the higher-spec variants will come with an AWD one.
