2. Eligibility Criteria For Getting A Driving License In Maharashtra

To obtain a valid driver’s license in Maharashtra, it’s important for applicants to meets the eligibility criteria as follows:

  • Applicant should first obtain a learner’s license before applying for a permanent driving license in Maharashtra.

5. How To Obtain A Driving License in Maharashtra?

Applying for a Driving License in Maharashtra could be implemented online or directly in person at the RTO offices in Maharashtra.

How To Apply For A Driving License Online In Maharashtra:

Maharastra Government has enabled an online driving license application for the citizens of the state. Applicants now can download the application forms and submit the files online by following the below steps:

  1. Pay a visit to the website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways: sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/.

  2. Select the “Online Services” section and from the drop-down menu, select the “Driving License Related Services” section.

  3. Choose the states in your jurisdiction, in this case, choose Maharashtra.

  4. In the drop-down menu of the “Apply Online’ section, select “New Driving License”.

  5. Read the instructions thoroughly, fill all the details in the application forms and submit them directly with the supporting documents.

  6. Keep the application number and go ahead with booking an appointment for your practical driving test.

  7. Once you have successfully booked an appointment, visit the RTO at the date and times as scheduled with all the original documents for your driving license exam.

The driving license would be delivered to your address via post if you pass the test.

How To Apply For A Driving License Offline In Maharashtra:

Apart from the online application, applicants in Maharashtra could approach the nearest RTO offices in Maharashtra to acquire a driving license offline. Here are the step-by-step procedures for applying the DL in person at Maharashtra RTO offices:

  1. Prepare the documents, procure the form at the RTO and submit it with the required documents

8. How To Obtain An International Driving License (IDL) in Maharashtra?

If you are planning to drive a vehicle during your travels abroad, you should apply for an international driving license at the RTO office in Maharashtra.

Before starting your application, read the eligibility criteria for applying for an IDL in Maharashtra as follows:

  1. Applicants should be older than 18 and have a valid Indian Driving License
