New Hyundai i20 Receives a Booking Every 2 Minutes

Hyundai launched the new-gen Hyundai i20 in India last month. Despite having high pricing, Hyundai i20 has garnered over 25,000 bookings within one month after its launch. Hyundai has continued to utilize its highly successful formula of long feature list and various powertrain options, which once again has yielded substantial success for the new-gen Hyundai i20.

The new Hyundai i20 comes with a stylish and attractive exterior design. The hatchback also receives substantial dimensional growth. After being updated, the i20 is currently the largest model in the segment. As mentioned above, the Hyundai i20 is a feature-loaded premium hatchback. Many among these high-end features are segment-first, which have appealed to many Indian buyers.

Hyundai i20 has always been a strong contender from the South Korean car manufacturer for a long time. It is not a big surprise that the updated model can create such a buzz in the market. In addition, anticipating the huge demand surge during the festive season, Hyundai launched the new-gen i20 just ahead of Diwali. This perfect timing has helped the Hyundai i20 to receive such good initial responses.

About the powertrains, the Hyundai i20 is available with three engine options, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engines are capable of making 83hp, 120hp, and 100hp of maximum power, respectively. The 1.2-litre engine is offered with either a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The turbo petrol engine which is also the most powerful unit in the segment gets two transmission options, a DCT automatic or an iMT gearbox. The diesel engine comes exclusively with a manual gearbox.

Hyundai i20 is loaded with a wide range of premium features

Hyundai i20 comes in four variants, Magna, Sportz, Asta, Asta (O). The prices go from Rs 6.80 lakh to Rs 11.18 lakh. It is not yet revealed what variants of the range attracted most buyers. However, as far as the prediction goes, the majority of customers is likely to opt for the top-spec variants which are fully-loaded with upmarket and segment-first features.
