Ayushmann Khurana Ropped In to Promote Toyota Urban Cruiser (Repurposed Maruti Vitara Brezza)

TKM has signed Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurana as a brand ambassador of their upcoming sub-4-meter SUV named as Urban Cruiser.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recently announced that the popular new-age Indian actor-singer, Ayushmann Khurana will be the brand ambassador of their all-new sub-4-meter SUV named as Urban Cruiser. Toyota Urban Cruiser is expected to hit the Indian shores by the upcoming festive season. With Urban Cruiser, Toyota has plans to target the young buyers of the country. Ayushmann Khurana will campaign the SUV via different electronic and print communicators. For this year, this is the overall strategy of the automaker to market their brand new car.

Talking about this association with Toyota Urban Cruiser, Ayushmann Khurrana said, “When people ask me about my journey, the love and respect I have earned in the entertainment industry, I always say ‘Respect is simply an outcome of what I have done’. Therefore, I love the idea of ‘respect’ being the mantra of the Urban Cruiser. I am thrilled to be associated with Toyota Urban Cruiser and look forward to sharing more details about the young urban SUV”.

Talking about the Toyota Urban Cruiser, it is the rebadged version of Maruti Vitara Brezza. Outside, the automaker has made a few tweaks to differentiate between both the cars. Mechanically, it’ll derive power from a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, which develops 105 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The same powertrain does duties in the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6.  Once launched, it’ll rub shoulders with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Ford EcoSport. Inside, the all-new Urban Cruiser will feature the Toyota logo on the steering wheel along with two-tone cabin. Features like keyless entry, automatic climate control, the push-button start-stop feature will be offered as a standard fitment across all the trims. The automaker has also added new colour shade options to make the SUV look a bit different from the regular Maruti SUV.
