Datsun redi-GO has been launched with BS-6 compliant engines and updated exterior and interior, with no change to its starting price.
After teasing the Indian masses with incomplete visuals of the BS-6 Datsun redi-GO, the carmaker has now finally launched the updated entry-level offering at a starting price of Rs. 2.83 lakh and it tops out at Rs. 4.77 lakh. The manufacturer has managed to price the base variant of the car in line with the base-spec trim of BS-4 redi-GO. Moving upwards in the variant hierarchy, the BS-6 iteration of the car sees a price hike of up to Rs. 54,000. In comparison to the Kwid, however, the base-spec trim is cheaper by Rs. 9,000.

Renault Kwid is offered with 2 engine options – 0.8L and 1.0L petrol. The redi-GO is also offered with these engine options. However, unlike the Kwid, redi-GO comes in just one variant with the bigger 1000cc heart. It is priced at Rs. 4.44 lakh with the 5-speed manual gearbox and at Rs. 4.77 lakh with the 5-speed AMT. The smaller 800cc motor is capable of churning out a rated power and torque output of 54 PS and 72 Nm, respectively. Bigger 1.0L engine, on the other hand, whips out 68 PS of peak power and 91 Nm of peak torque.

Datsun redi-GO now gets a redesigned face that looks aggressive from every angle. Also, it looks upmarket as well, in comparison to its competition. Datsun has nicely used the sharp creases on the redi-GO’s front and rear facet. On the inside, the car now gets a redesigned dashboard, which looks a whole lot better than that of BS-4 version of the car. Overall, Datsun has performed a nice job to accentuate the car’s exterior and interior while keeping its original form intact.

With the update, the redi-GO also gets a revamped feature list. It now gets a new 8.0-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment unit, USB input, Bluetooth connectivity, new instrument cluster, LED DRLs, LED taillamps, LED fog lamps, new steering wheel, reverse parking camera, green glass for windshields and windows and more. The redi-GO will also offer dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, seat belt alarm, and high-speed alerts as standard fitment across the range. Also, what’s nice on the updated redi-GO is it now gets full door panels and covered C-pillar on the inside. In simple words, you don’t get to see the exposed metal parts anymore.
