The South Korean car giant has dropped the top on the Verna by a new 1.4-litre diesel and two new variants to the 1.6-litre engine option in the Indian auto space.
First launched in 2017 with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel powerhouse options, the Hyundai Verna was one of the world’s most celebrated sedan. Last week, Hyundai made a comeback for the next generation of Verna that redefines its position in the auto market.

This time around, the all-new Verna has been available with a 1.4-litre diesel engine along with two trims of the 1.6-litre motor option: the SX+ petrol and SX (O) diesel variants. The 1.4-litre diesel engine range will be powered by a 1.4-litre powertrain that churns out 89 bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 220 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 to 2,750 rpm along with a six-speed manual gearbox. The introductory price of the 1.4-litre diesel Verna is positioned at around Rs 9.29 lakh and Rs 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Specifically, the SX (O) Variant brings in ventilated leather seats, highly-adjustable rear-seat headrests, telescopic steering, six airbags, etc.

These new variants of Hyundai Verna are made available at the starting price of Rs 11.51 lakh and Rs 13.99 lakh for the SX+ and SX (O), respectively. The next-gen Hyundai Verna is aggressively competing with the likes of Toyota Yaris, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Vento.
