Mahindra Thar Petrol Deliveries Delayed - Dealer REVEALS

In a recent video, a Mahindra dealership owner has confirmed the delays in the delivery of petrol variant of the all-new Mahindra Thar. Read the complete report here.

The new-gen Mahindra Thar was the most-anticipated launches of this year. Now, the anticipation of the Thar patrons has moved over to the deliveries. Recently, Mahindra has delivered the very-first unit of the all-new Thar, which was auctioned for Rs. 1.11 Crore. However, in a YouTube video from the channel of BYC Jammu Official, owner of a Mahindra dealership can be seen claiming that deliveries of petrol variants of the Thar will be delayed by some time. This video was shot at Astro Mahindra, which is reportedly the biggest dealership of the region.

It is for the first time that Mahindra Thar is available with two engine options – 2.0L turbo-petrol and 2.2L turbo-diesel. The petrol unit belts out a rated power and torque output of 150 Hp and 320 Nm, respectively. The oil burner, on the other hand, generates a peak power output of 130 Hp and max torque of 300 Nm. Moreover, the Thar can now be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter unit.

Talking of the off-road credentials, the new-gen model has managed to raise the bars higher than the car it replaces. It now comes standard with a 4x4 layout and BorgWarner transfer case with a low-ratio gearbox. Also, it gets a mechanically-locking rear differential as standard fitment across the range, while the brake-locking front axle is offered in the top-spec trims only. The approach angle now stands at 41.8 degrees, the departure angle at 36.8 degrees, and the ramp-over angle at 26.2 degrees.

The Thar gets a long list of features as well, in its new-gen avatar. The list includes a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen display for infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, lumbar adjustment for the seat, tilt-adjust for the steering wheel, power windows, electronically-adjustable ORVMs. For the safety of occupants, it now gets ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, ESP, rear-parking sensors, hill hold assist, hill-descent control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, roll cage, and corner stability program. The prices for the new-gen Thar start at Rs. 9.80 lakh and top out at Rs. 13.75 lakh.
