No detail regarding the India-spec Maruti Jimny is revealed yet. However, in all likelihood, Maruti Jimny is expected to come with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine which is currently powering the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the S Cross. Under its current form, the engine is powerful enough to put out a top power of 103 Bhp and a maximum torque of 138 Nm. It is expected that the Jimny will come with the option of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The 4WD system along with a lower range transfer case might be offered as standard across the range.

Maruti Jimny is being considered for the Indian market

In the international market, the Suzuki Jimny comes in the form of a three-door model. When entering the Indian market, the Jimny will be available with a five-door configuration. The five-door version is expected to feature a longer wheelbase. While the three-door Jimny measures 3550 mm in length, the India-spec Jimny is likely to measure around 3.9 meters. The wheelbase is expected to expand to 2,500 mm. On the inside, it will come with front-facing second-row seats. That being said, the 5-door Maruti Jimny is likely to continue with the same underpinnings with a ladder-frame chassis as the 3-door version.
