Maruti Outsold Other Brands in August PV Sales

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) had six vehicles in the top ten list of the passenger vehicles with the highest sales in August with Maruti Alto holding the first position.

As revealed by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the Maruti Alto outsold all other car models with 22,237 units sold in August in comparison with 21,521 units sold in the same period last year when it stood at the second position.

Moving from the second position last year, Maruti Alto stood at the first position with the sales of 22,237 units

On the contrary, the MSI’s small sedan DZIRE moved from the first position last year (21,990 units) to the second one with 30,934 units sold.

Holding the third position is the exceptional hatchback Swift of the MSI stable with a spectacular increase from 12,631 units in August 2017 to 19,115 units sold this year.

This year, Baleno sold 17,713 units, taking up the fourth position, decreasing by approximately 600 units compared to the same period last year.

Also a product of MSI, the Wagon R hatchback successfully secured its fifth position by selling 13,658 units in August, decreasing by nearly 300 units in comparison with that in August last year. MSI’s small SUV Vitara Brezza moved from the fourth position last year to the sixth one this year with 13,271 units sold.

Holding the next two positions are Hyundai’s small hatchback Grand i10 at the seventh position with 11,489 units sold and the Elite 20 at the eighth position with the sale of 11,475 units.

Standing at the ninth position is the Creta with 10,384 units sold. The compact sedan Honda Amaze occupied the last position by selling 9,644 units.

It is not difficult to recognize that car models of MSI and Hyundai dominate the top ten best-selling cars in August this year. Maruti has also secured its first position in July.
