New Hyundai Palisade SUV Wrapped Off At 2018 LA Motor Show

Hyundai has dropped the tops on its SUV lineup by a new vehicle named Hyundai Palisade which has been taken the wraps off in Los Angeles yesterday. It is the largest vehicle offered by the carmaker in the international market, even larger than the US-spec Hyundai Santa Fe.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV appears as the 8-seater Sport Utility Vehicle which has been developed on the new Hyundai’s platform. Sharing some similarities with the Kia’s Telluride, the new SUV measures increased dimensions including the length of 4,981 mm, the width of 1,976 mm and the height of 1,750 mm together with a wheelbase of 2,901 mm.

Exterior-wise, the Palisade comes with the boldest cascading grille flanked by dual lightings fitments such as LED daytime running lamps and vertical LED taillights and fog lamps. The car is packed with the large arches housing 20-inch alloy wheels and large rear windscreen that boasts the increase in the spaciousness.

On the inside, the flagship SUV features the combination of usability and versatility. The quilted Nappa leather wrap-around dashboard along with the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility boosts the drivers’ pleasure of driving. In term of safety, the Palisade is available with the high-quality safety features incorporated in the vehicle. It is packed with seven dual airbags, ACC (Adaptive cruise control), blind-spot assistant system, forward-collision assist, lane keeping assist, child-safety lock and speed limits, etc.

Under the hood, the 8-seater Hyundai’s vehicle sources the power output from a 3.8-litre Atkinson-Cycle V6 engine which is capable of generating 288 hp of power at 6000 rpm and 355 Nm of torque at 500 rpm. The mill is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission delivering the output to either 2 or 4 wheels via an AWD system. The additional engine option is not revealed but it is likely to be a 2.0-litre diesel motor which can churn out 148 hp/ 182hp of power and 400 Nm units.

The car is scheduled to hit the US market in 2020. Whether the all-new 2020 Hyundai Palisade SUV enters the Indian market or not is still under the wraps. If it does, it will get a price increase as compared to the upcoming Santa Fe.
