Tata Hexa Safari Edition takes off its cover at the Auto Expo 2020. Here's everything about the special edition of the Hexa MPV.

Tata Motors has taken the wraps off a special edition of the Tata Hexa at the Auto Expo 2020 – the Tata Hexa Safari Edition, in a bid to pay the homage to the defunct-but-iconic Tata Safari SUV. The Hexa Safari edition comes to preview the BSVI-spec Tata Hexa that will be introduced in the Indian space at a later date.

The Tata Hexa Safari wears a bolder look than the standard version. It boasts of new badges on both outside and inside to differentiate it from the regular model, along with the special body paint options and dark grey-coloured alloys wheels.

The interior of the special Hexa Safari features a dual-tone black and white theme, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker JBL sound system, a 3.5-inch TFT display for the instrument panel, and cruise control. Standard safety suite on the Tata Hexa Safari includes dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, high-speed warning, and rear parking sensors.

Under the hood of the Hexa Safari edition lies the same 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine, albeit in BSVI guise, good for 156 PS of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with three transmission option, namely a 5-speed MT, a 6-speed MT, and a 6-speed AT. A 4x4 drivetrain system is also on offer for the 6-speed manual variant.

Tata Hexa Safari Edition is expected to be launched after the April, seeing a price increment over the regular Hexa which is positioned at Rs 13.7 – 19.27 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Apart from the Hexa Safari, the home-grown company also unveiled a batch of new products including the Tata Gravitas, BSVI Tata Harrier automatic, Tata Sierra EV concept, and the Tata HBX concept.
