With the help of the incredibly 4.0-litre turbodiesel powerful engine, the Touareg is capable of propelling from zero to 100 kmph within 5 seconds. What’s more, the highest speed this SUV could reach is 250kmph. All these awe-inspiring figures tell a lot about how strong and superior it could be. Also, the engine strictly follows the new Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard.

Volkswagen confidently claims that this engine will be the most powerful diesel SUV from a German manufacturer, which doesn’t sound accurate. As a matter of fact, the Audi SQ7 TDI which also features the same V8 TDI engine could develop a higher power output of 435PS.

Volkswagen Touareg is claimed to sport the most powerful diesel engine in the SUV space

The premium SUV will be available in two style packages, a standard Elegance and the optional Atmosphere. In the standard style, the interior will sport cool and metal colour tones with the simplistic design while the Atmosphere is all about warmer shades with more sophisticated design elements. Along with the optional design style, the Touareg will come with leather-wrapped seats and leather-sheathed door trims across the range. On top of that, a lavish comfort zone will be provided in both packages.

At the centre of the dashboard, the Innovision Cockit will easily capture the attention with the glass finish and the tanned leather. Wood, aluminium and chrome accent gives out the strong feels of premiumness.

The flagship SUV Touareg is loaded with a host of driving assistance and safety features, among those are

  • Night Vision

  • Traffic Jam and Roadwork Lane Assist

  • Front Cross Traffic Assist

  • Active all-wheel steering system

  • Roll stabilisation system

  • LED matrix headlight

Mechanically, Volkswagen also worked out a better, more advanced setting, including the air suspension, electrical boot lid, stainless steel pedals, Auto-dimming ORVMs, automatic headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels.

This SUV will go on sale in May. Before more details arriving at launch, we could have a look at this SUV at Geneva Motor Show from 7 to 17 March.
