Biggest-ever Mahindra Thar Rangoli gets Registered in India Book of Records

India has a lot of talented spirits, and these people amaze others with their unusual talents. Recently, Punith G.R. from Mandya, Karnataka sets a world record by making a giant rangoli of the 2020 Mahindra Thar. The rangoli measured 20 feet x 18 feet in size. This is the world’s largest rangoli of a vehicle, which is dedicated to Anand Mahindra, who is the chairman of Mahindra Group. Punith G.R. wants to gift the India book of records certificate to Mr Mahindra. More details about Punith’s work are currently not available, but there’s one thing for sure that the artist has done an amazing job in graphically interpreting the all-new Mahindra offroader. The second-gen Mahindra Thar is quite successful a product of the indigenous carmaker.

The off-roader has a huge waiting period, and for several trims, it extends up to one year. The SUV is offered with two power plant options, two variants, and six colour shades. It is powered by 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The former develops power and torque outputs of 150 Bhp and 320 Nm, respectively. However, the oil burner is capable of shredding out 130 Bhp of peak power and 300 Nm of max torque. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2020 Mahindra Thar is offered with six different colour shades namely- Galaxy Grey, Rocky Beige, Mystic Copper, Red Rage, Aqua Marine and Napoli Black.

Inside, it comes loaded with features like a touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, cruise control, a semi-digital instrument cluster and much more. It gets retailed at a starting price of Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 14.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec variant. Soon the carmaker will introduce the new-gen Scorpio and XUV500 in the Indian market. Both SUVs will get propelled by 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel mill and are expected to hit the Indian shores in the coming months.
