The new Hyundai i20 recently went on sale at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The new Maruti Baleno-rival is on sale in three engine variants - 2 petrol and a diesel

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has recently launched the new-gen i20 in our market. It rivals with the likes of Tata Altroz and Maruti Baleno. The new-gen model of the premium hatchback looks sportier and more premium than its predecessor. However, here’s a recent digital render of the 2020 Hyundai i20 in Dark Edition livery and we feel that the car looks even bolder in this avatar.

One can see in the image that the new Hyundai i20 looks bolder in an all-black colour theme. In this rendering, a few subtle tweaks have been made on the outside of the car to make it look more eye-catching. The front fascia of the i20 Dark Edition gets some premium chrome accents near the fog lamps and lower lip of the car. The addition of such chrome inserts gels up quite well with the black colour shade of the hatchback and has also enhanced its premium quotient.

Other than this the front fascia of the car remains the same. It continues to get a huge aggressive-looking grille along with projector headlamps. On the side, one major change is the addition of new blacked-out alloy wheels. The side profile of the premium hatchback also gets blacked-out door cladding with some premium chrome inserts and chrome door handles.

Other than these subtle customizations everything remains the same. The new-gen Hyundai i20 derives power from three different engine options, which consists of 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre NA petrol unit puts out 82bhp of power, the turbo petrol unit develops 99bhp, and the diesel motor is capable of shredding out a power output of 99bhp. It’ll be offered with five distinctive transmission options- a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). It is retailed at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 11.32 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec variant.
