Renault Kiger vs Tata Nexon Comparison – Exterior Design

Design is an important attribute of a car. Indeed, this is the very first parameter that customers consider while planning to buy a car. In this regard, Renault Kiger and Tata Nexon are largely different from each other. Starting from the front-end, the Renault Kiger looks typically Renault with its Kwid-like face. It gets a winged grille, which is flanked by LED DRL housings. The bonnet is comparably set lower than most of its rivals but features prominent bulges. The front bumper of the Renault Kiger looks quite good with a set of triple-barrel LED headlamp clusters.

In comparison to the Renault Kiger, the Tata Nexon’s front-end looks imposing. The bonnet is a high-set clam-shell unit. Unlike the Kiger’s vertically-split headlamps, it gets sleeker units that feature bi-function LED DRLs and projectors. Yes! It does remind you of the Range Rover Evoque.

From the sides, the Tata Nexon looks more contemporary in comparison to the Renault Kiger. The Nexon gets a sloping roofline, which gives it a coupe-esque appeal. Also, the Nexon’s wheel arches look beefier than those of the Renault Kiger. The latter, on the other hand, gets a rather proportionate silhouette. It misses out on the chopped-tail theme, which is quite noticeable on most of its rivals. While the Kiger’s roof slopes downwards towards the boot lid, it lacks the visual drama that the Tata Nexon's sloping roofline packs in.

Renault Kiger vs Tata Nexon Comparison – Rear Design

For the rear-end, the Renault Kiger gets our vote. With a squatter stance and a cleaner boot lid, it looks the better one of the two. Moreover, the C-shaped tail lamps are another highlight of Kiger’s great-looking rear facet. The Nexon, in its facelifted avatar, gets a set of new tail lamps and looks quite appealing too. But, it lacks the charm of Kiger’s rear face. However, it is the Tata Nexon that looks more SUV-ish in comparison to the Renault Kiger.

Renault Kiger vs Tata Nexon Comparison – Interior Design

Like the exterior, a car should also have an upmarket interior. This makes for our next chapter of this Renault Kiger vs Tata Nexon comparison. The Kiger gets an all-digital instrument cluster like the Tata Nexon, but it uses a 7-inch configurable display. The infotainment units are mounted in a fully-floating manner on both of these cars, but the Nexon’s display is a size smaller. Also, the centre AC vents are stacked below the infotainment units on the Tata Nexon and Renault Kiger.

For the interior theme, Renault has used a darker colour pallet on the Kiger, while the Tata Nexon uses lighter shades. Also, the centre console is a bit higher on the Tata Nexon than in the Renault Kiger. While the doors pads feel more thoughtfully designed on the Tata Nexon, which isn’t the case with the Renault Kiger. Moreover, the Nexon feels more spacious and airier of the two. In terms of boot space, the Renault Kiger take a lead when compared with the Tata Nexon. The Kiger offers 405 litres of boot space whereas the Nexon comes with a trunk volume of 350 litres.

Also, the Nexon boasts of better build quality. The door lock mechanism on the Nexon feels modern since it is integrated into the door latch itself. On the contrary, Renault Kiger gets pull-to-open-type stalks. A lot of parts on the Kiger do remind us of the Nissan Magnite as the two cars share their part bins. Interestingly, Tata Nexon too gets some bits from other Tata cars, but the extent of part sharing here is certainly less on the Nexon.
