First Tata Harrier Batch Reaches Dealerships Ahead of Launch

The much-awaited Tata Harrier has started hitting the dealers ahead of its January 23 launch, marking its aggressive competition in its segment., It will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass

The largest home-grown auto manufacturer, Tata Motors, is all set to launch its brand new SUV- the Tata Harrier - in the Indian markets on this January 23. To catch the public attention, Tata has been releasing a plethora of promotion campaigns along with practical previews of the new Harrier across the country. Tata Motors has even started dispatching the first batch of SUVs to its authorized dealerships.

Underpinned by the OMEGA platform that is based on the Land Rover D8 architecture, the Tata Harrier comes with modern esthetics along with bigger proportions than even the Mahindra XUV500. The cabin is quite spacious and the driving comfort is top notch. As a part of Tata’s Turnaround 2.0 strategy, the Harrier becomes one of many new Tata models that will be launched in the coming times. The Harrier is also is the first-ever car to adopt the Impact Design 2.0 language which is slated to be featured even by the Tata X451 hatchback.

The all-new Harrier is included in the company's strategy to dominate 90% of the addressable segment

Powering the Tata Harrier is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Kryotec diesel engine that churns out 140 HP of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The mill is married to a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed torque converter automatic is expected to be offered at a later stage.

The SUV is all set to be launched on January 18

The bookings for the SUV have been underway since October 2018 and can be made for a  token amount of Rs 30,000. The all-new Harrier is highly likely to become a blockbuster in the Indian auto space and outperform several established rivals in its segment.
