Latest Gen BMW 3-Series To Get A Hybrid Version

The German luxury car brand has introduced the hybrid version for its BMW 3-Series outside our borders codenamed BMW 330e iPerformance which integrates the driving dynamics of a sport sedan in the latest BMW eDrive technology.

The new BMW 330e iPerformance comes masterfully in the outlook of a Sport sedan with the combination of agility and opulence. The plug-in hybrid sedan is looked to offer more efficient and powerful driving performance as compared to other the electric vehicles. Scheduled to go on sale in 2019, the BMW 330e will increase by 30% in speed, 50% in electric-only range and reduce by 10% in CO2 emission compared to its predecessors.

The all-new hybrid version, BMW 330e could be recharged directly from the electricity main source even while being on the road. The 12kWh lithium-ion 12.0 battery pack could double the driving distance running by purely electric-powered source. It could of help generate zero-emission at the point of use and lessen the total fuel consumption on the long trips possible to obtain lower running costs.

In specifically, the plug-in hybrid car could be able to run over 60 km on pure electric power at a speed of 120 Kmph and likely to get a consumption figure of 3.5 Litres/100 Km measured by EU fuel consumption test. The hybrid sedan is thoroughly a product of manoeuvres, responsiveness aligned with modern mobility, accordingly.

The new-gen 330e plug-in hybrid has been added with standard-for XtraBoost performance system which can enable an increase in power output from 252bhp to 297 bhp at the button touch. It offers switchable driving modes in which is defaulted by EcoPro mode after being started. The vehicle is said to be “intelligent hybrid functionally, whereby the energy management system tailors the interplay of a combustion engine and electric drive system to the most efficient effect.”

Mechanically, the hybrid version of BMW 3-Series is powered by a 184 bhp 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a supplementary electric motor that churns out 113 bhp of max power output. The two drive units generate 252 bhp of total output and 420 Nm of peak torque.

The all-new BMW 330e Hybrid will make its official launch from July 2019. No details have been revealed that this edition would make its entry to the Indian market but the petrol and diesel-powered edition of the newest-gen 3-Series would also come in 2019.
