2020 Honda Civic BS6 Diesel Launched At Rs 20.75 Lakh

Honda has finally launched the BS6 Civic diesel in the Indian market. The new model is retailed at a starting price of Rs 20.74 lakh.

The Japanese carmaker Honda launched the petrol trims of the new-gen Civic in March last year. The premium sedan is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.8-litre i-VTEC gasoline engine. Now to cater the demands of the buyers who were waiting for the BS6 diesel variants of the car, the automaker has finally launched the BS6 Civic diesel in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 20.75 lakh. The new BS6 Honda Civic diesel is propelled by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC oil burner with carmaker’s Earth Dream Technology that offers a good combination of performance and fuel efficiency.

The new BS6 Civic Diesel in offered in two different trim levels

The new BS6-compliant diesel trim is capable of shredding out 120 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of twisting force at 2,000 rpm. The diesel mill comes paired with a 6-speed MT. The carmaker says that the new Civic diesel unit is rated to return 23.9 kmpl of fuel-mileage.

Speaking about the launch of the new BS6 Honda Civic diesel, Mr Rajesh Goel, Sr Vice President and Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, "Honda is committed to bringing its latest and advanced environment-friendly technologies to the Indian market. With the introduction of the BS6 Diesel version of our iconic sedan Honda Civic, our entire sedan lineup will offer the choice of both Petrol and Diesel to cater to our esteemed customers. The Diesel Civic is available in Manual Transmission and will appeal to customers looking for sheer driving pleasure."

The tenth-gen Civic diesel is offered in two different trim levels namely- VX and ZX. Both the variants are being offered with 6 airbags as standard whereas the VX variant gets an additional curtain airbag. In terms of looks and features, the sedan is identical to its BS6 petrol cousin. Some of the key features of the new Honda Civic diesel are LED headlights, two-zone automatic climate control, C-shaped LED taillights, 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The sedan is retailed at a starting price of Rs 20,74,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the entry-level VX trim and goes all the way up to Rs 22,34,900 for the top-spec ZX variant.
