New Look Maruti Dzire (Facelift) Reaches Dealerships

The facelifted Maruti Dzire comes with Baleno’s 1.2-litre Dual Jet petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system.

Having been out there since 2008, the Maruti Dzire has garnered a huge fan following in India. In its third generation now, the Dzire has been the hottest-selling sedan ever since its launch over a decde ago.The third generation of the Dzire was launched in 2017 and it received a mid-cycle facelift earlier this year. Priced from Rs 5.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Dzire comes to mark the discontinuation of the 1.3-litre diesel version due to the BSVI implementation. Recently, the first live image of the facelifted Dzire have surfaced on the internet, thereby revealing that the first batch of the refreshed sedan has reached the dealerships.

New Look Maruti Dzire (Facelift) Reaches Dealerships, Deliveries Commence

Maruti Suzuki gives the Dzire a facelift in response to the increasing competition induced by the new Hyundai Aura. After long days of waiting, the country’s largest carmaker has already announced the commencement of deliveries of its vehicles in India. The company has released its new SOP protocol featuring safety, hygiene and sanitization of the employees and customers at the forefront. The manufacturing will also restart from May 12 at the company's Manesar plant.

The 2020 Maruti Dzire is available in 7 different variants, including LXi, VXi, VXi AGS, ZXi, ZXi AGS, and ZXi+ AGS. Also, the car has received two new body colour options, namely Phoenix Red and Premium Silver. The Dzire gets an updated front fascia with larger hexagonal grille, revised bumper, new headlamps and revised fog lamps housings.

The interior of the Dzire also gets some amendments such as new faux wood trim, flush-type parking sensors, cruise control and new seat upholstery. Other highlights of the new sedan comprise of an updated SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support along with voice commands and live traffic updates, TFT multi-information display, auto-folding ORVMs and more.

The 2020 Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre Dual Jet K-series petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech. It produces 90 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. This is 7 PS more than what the 1.2-litre unit of the pre-facelift model could churn out. The engine can be had with either a five-speed manual transmission or a a 5-speed AMT.
