2021 Tata Safari Teased Again, Shows Second-row Captain Seats

Tata has been releasing teasers for the new Safari every day and will keep doing it till it launches later this month. Here's one, which shows the second-row captain chairs of the recently unveiled flagship offering of the carmaker.

Tata Motors has released another teaser for the 2021 Safari SUV, and this is the first one which shows the interiors of the new flagship SUV after it released teaser images for the exteriors. While the carmaker has already unveiled the new-gen Safari's exterior, the brand has managed to keep the interior away from the masses. In the latest teaser, it shows the 6-seater version of the Tata Safari, complete with captain seats for the middle row. Both seats will come with individual armrests and looks to have upmarket materials fitted to them. However, the teaser doesn’t fully show how much space the third row will have but doesn’t look to be too spacious.

While the carmaker has unveiled the upcoming 2021 Safari, it earlier shared teasers of the new front grille, the rear quarter window on the D pillar and the tail lights of the new Safari. The teasers have been part of building the hype for the new generation SUV which is launching this month. Tata Motors has revealed that the production-spec Gravitas SUV will be named as the Safari in India. The Safari is quite possibly the most notable nameplates in the Indian automobile industry, and it will make a return as Tata's flagship SUV in India. The 7-seater rendition of the Harrier that was exhibited at the 2020 Indian AutoExpo was codenamed as the Gravitas. Tata Motors has been utilizing various monikers, calling the vehicle as to the Buzzard additionally during the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. In any case, Tata says that the impending 7-seater SUV was always planned to be the new Safari.

The Tata Safari will come loaded with a slew of features when it launches, and will likely share some features with the Harrier SUV. Notable features include an 8.8- inch touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, and cruise control. The safety kit may include features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent control, child seat ISOFIX anchorages, rear parking sensors, traction control, hill hold control, and more.

The Tata Safari will be powered by the Harrier's Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 170 PS/350 Nm of peak power and torque. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Dimension wise, Tata has also added 63 mm to the Harrier’s length and 80 mm to the height to make way for a decent third row. And like the Harrier, the new Safari too will be based on the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture.
