Being the blockbuster in the auto market since its first launch in September 2017, Tata has announced to achieve a new milestone which is the roll-out of the 50,000th Nexon at its plant in Ranjangaon.

Recently, Tata has announced to achieve a new milestone which is the roll-out of the 50,000th Nexon at its plant in Ranjangaon. This milestone has been nailed within less than a year.

Having registered a steady demand, the sub-compact SUV was a popular seller with 10,000th model rolling out in November 2017. The automaker afterwards to achieve the 25,000 production milestone in February this year. The 50,000th figure comes six months after.

It came as no surprise that the SUV was awarded a four-star score in the latest round of the Global NCAP crash test results, making it the safest subcompact SUV on sale in the country. In the Indian market, the Nexon has been one of the blockbusters which helped the sales figures significantly. Currently, the Nexon has been the second most selling model in Tata's line-up which averages about 4000 units every month after the Tiago.

Regardless of the fact that many other carmakers witnessing a decline in terms of sales growth in July 2018, the compact SUV was still one of the models that helped Tata post a growth of 14 percent over its sales last year. 

In May 2018, the Nexon helped Tata to quadruple its SUV market share, which increased by 5.62 percent.

Tata Nexon is available with both of petrol and diesel engine options which are the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel included. The car receives the power from the 6-speed manual transmission. Since its first launch, the Nexon saw the introduction of the AMT-equipped model in 2018 which is the first only in the top-spec XZA+ trim and then later in the lower-spec XMA trim. Recently, the SUV also receives an upgrade in terms of the infotainment system. Particularly, it now features AppleCarPlay in addition to the previously available Android Auto.

The prices for the Nexon start at ₹ 6.15 lakh, and the range-topping diesel trim is up to ₹ 10.59 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
