A new showroom has been set up in Dhaka, Bangladesh by Ashok Leyland. This is one step in the plan to reinforce the global presence of the Indian automaker.

Ashok Leyland has just established the new Madanpur 3S dealership of M/s IFAD Autos in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The showroom is positioned at Madanpur, Narayanganj District on Dhaka Chittagong expressway, one of the most crowding routes in Bangladesh, which is also the intermediary between Dhaka and Chittagong Sea Port. This advanced facility has a total area of 1,38,240 sq. ft and 18 service bays thoroughly equipped with top-notch automobile assembly lines and manufacturing equipment, providing enough space for Ashok Leyland vehicles.

"With the inauguration of this facility, we will have 22 touch points in the country and plan to rapidly expand it to over 36 in the near term. This is also in line with our strategy to strengthen our overseas presence."

In response, Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu, IFAD Group Chairman expressed his pleasure to continue the partnership with Ashok Leyland and commented,

IFAD Group and Ashok Leyland cooperation

The cooperation between IFAD Group and Ashok Leyland has helped both the companies develop at a stable space

Last year, an assembly plant was set up by Ashok Leylandin in Bangladesh. The plant extends over 37 acres and was the result of the joint venture between Ashok Leyland and IFAD Autos. Earlier this year, Ashok Leyland has claimed orders for 200 single-deck buses and 300 double-deck buses to be provided for the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation.

The facility in Bangladesh is the first fully-equipped plant of Ashok Leyland outside India. Hope that this new plant would help the Indian automobile reinforce and further expand its presence in an emerging but potential auto market like Bangladesh in particular and in the thriving international automobile market in general.
