BS6 Hyundai Elantra Gets Same Diesel Engine As Hyundai Creta

Hyundai Motors India has officially introduced an oil-burner option for the refreshed Elantra. The diesel variant of the premium sedan will go on sale in India very soon. The new Hyundai Elantra diesel will derive power from the same 1.5-litre U2 CRDi engine which is available even on the 2020 Hyundai Creta. This is a 1,493 cc four-cylinder diesel unit with a VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger). The new unit is BS6-compliant and it puts out 115 PS of power at 4,000 rpm, and 250 Nm of twisting force at 1,500-2,750 rpm. The carmaker has confirmed that the diesel motor offered with the BS6 Elantra will come paired with a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT.

The diesel variant of the refreshed Hyundai Elantra will be powered by the same 1.5-litre CRDi turbo-diesel motor that is available on the second-gen Creta.

The diesel model will be retailed in two different trim levels, namely- SX and SX (O). The SX trim will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the SX (O) variant will be offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, the SX trim will come loaded with features like LED quad projector headlights along with LED DRLS and positioning lamps, premium leather upholstery, wireless charging pad, front ventilated seats, driving modes, electrically adjustable driver seat with electric lumbar support, digital instrument cluster and much more. On the other hand, the SX (O) variant features- 6 airbags, HAC, ESC, VSM, rear defogger with timer, reverse parking camera with sensors, automatic headlamps with escort function, auto defogger up front and rear disc brakes.

2020 Hyundai Elantra Diesel wiil be retailed in two trim levels, namely- SX and SX (O)

One can expect the new Hyundai Elantra diesel to be priced between Rs 19.5 lakh to Rs 20.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In terms of dimensions, the new Hyundai Elantra is 4,620 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,465 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.  The updated model is being offered in five smart-looking colour shades namely- Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver and Phantom Black.
