Booking for the BS-6 compliant Nissan Kicks will commence from May 15, however, here's all the information you should know before booking one.
Nissan Kicks is all set to be launched in its BS-6 avatar. We recently reported that it will get a new 1.3L petrol engine with the update. However, Nissan has now revealed that the car will get the new HR13 1.3L engine but the older 1.5L N/A petrol motor will also be available as an option. Co-developed by Daimler, this engine even powers models like the Mercedes A-Class and GLA-Class, albeit, in a higher state of tune. Still, even in the lower state of tune, the motor goes on to make the Kicks more powerful than 1.4-litre turbo-petrol versions of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
The turbo-petrol engine will be the most powerful motor of its segment with a peak power output of 156 PS and a max torque of 254Nm. There will be two transmission options on offer – 5-speed MT and 8-speed CVT automatic. The 1.5L N/A unit will continue to belt out 105 PS and 142 Nm and will come mated a 5-speed MT and a CVT. In the BS-6 compliant nature, the 1.5L unit will return a mileage of 14.1 kmpl, while the powerful 1.3L motor will return an ARAI-rated figure of 16.3 kmpl.
Nissan Kicks is one of the sharpest handling cars in its segment.
