Hyundai Creta Crosses 5 Lakh Sales In India

Hyundai Creta has crossed a sales milestone of 5 lakh units. It rivals with the likes of Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks.

Hyundai Creta is the top-selling SUV in its segment and its rivals with the likes of Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos. The SUV is receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers since the launch of the first-gen model back in 2015. The SUV has recently created a new benchmark as it crosses a milestone of 5 lakh sales milestone in our country. The automaker launched the second-gen model of the car in India in March this year. The car has received over 65,000 bookings in less than 5 months. It has been India’s top-selling compact SU\V from last three consecutive months (May, June and July). Last month, the carmaker retailed 11,549 units of the SUV to the customers.

Moreover, the diesel model of the SUV accounts for around 60 per cent of the total Creta bookings. The Korean automaker has delivered a total of 34,212 units of Venue, Creta, Kona EV and Tucson between April to July 2020. Hyundai has also revealed that the made-in-India Creta has been exported to the 88 international markets. The all-new Hyundai Creta is based on the same platform which underpins the Kia Seltos. The 2020 model of the SUV comes with a new design language, powertrain options and a few other segment-leading convenience features. It comes loaded with features like an electric panoramic sunroof, remote start, electronic parking brake with auto hold, paddle shifters and one-touch cruise control, touch-enabled air purifier, Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology with voice command, ventilated seats and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Voice Command and Navigation.

The SUV derives power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former puts out power and torque outputs of 115 PS and 144 Nm, while the latter develops 115 PS and 250 Nm of twisting force. The SUV also gets propelled by a smaller 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor that produces 140 PS of peak power and 242 Nm of peak torque. The engines are offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
