Hyundai Venue is among the popularly known sub-4-meter SUVs in the Indian market. Recently, the carmaker has launched the Venue with iMT (intelligent manual transmission). The new Hyundai Venue iMT will be offered at Rs 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the SX variant and Rs 11.09 lakh for the SX(O) trim. This makes the new model roughly Rs 22,000 costlier than the manual transmission variant. Now many of you must be thinking that what is iMT?

It is a first-in-industry gearbox that combines convenience of an automatic transmission with the control offered by a manual gearbox. The new iMT technology by the carmaker is a revolutionary 2-pedal system that terminates the need for the driver to constantly use the clutch pedal like in a regular manual gearbox. On the other hand, the new Sport variant of Hyundai Venue will be powered by a Kappa 1.0-litre T-GDi gasoline mill and a 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel unit. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine will come paired with Hyundai’s new iMT or the 7-speed DCT, while the 1.5-litre oil burner will come mated to a 6-speed MT.

Furthermore, the SUV will be offered in two different dual-tone colour shade options namely- Titan Grey with Phantom Black Roof and Polar White with Phantom Black Roof. As compared to the regular trims of the SUV, the new Sport variant will be offered with some added goodies. Outside, the Sport trim will feature two-tone colour shade, Sport badging, piano black grille upfront with Red accents, Grey coloured roof rails with some red inserts and also Red inserts on wheels arches and body side moulding. A few visual tweaks are also done inside the cabin of the car like the addition of Dark Grey upholstery, metal pedals, Red stitching on the upholstery, door pads, and steering wheel. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol variant coupled with 7-speed DCT will also be offered with paddle shifters.
