India’s First Citroen Dealership Gets Ready, Will Sell Honda CR-V and VW Tiguan-rivalling C5 Aircross SUV

As part of the PSA group, the French automotive company, Citroen is all set to enter India with the launch of the Citroen C5 Aircross premium SUV in the second half of this year. Citroen has built a long-term strategy to introduce its products to the Indian market, which can be seen through the establishment of its first set of showrooms and dealerships in the country.

Peugeot Citroen's first dealership has been built in Ahmedabad and will start operation in mid-2020.

Reports have already revealed some images of Citroen’s pilot set of dealerships in India, which is located in Ahmedabad and will start its operations by mid-2020. It is expected that more such showrooms would be opened across the country in the coming times, all the ways to raise brand awareness and build its pre-sales and after-sales service before the launch.

With "La Maison" Concept, the showroom will focus on giving outstanding buyers' experiences in a warm atmosphere.

Citroen’s first outlet in Ahmedabad will have an area of about 4645 square metres as well as a capacity to display 5 to 6 cars. Like other French firms, Citroen India dealerships will be built on the “La Maison” concept. Unlike MG Motors which uses the massive and opulent theme to propagate the premium appeal in around its dealerships, Citroen makes use of materials like wood or earthy tones with bright accents to create the simple but warm atmosphere inside their showrooms. The interactive virtual system will also be available for the customers to configure their cars from home before implementing the configuration process at the showroom.

According to some recent reports, the French automotive brand will have about 10 – 15 dealerships at the first stage. The number of dealerships will be increased gradually before more Citroen cars are brought to India.

As for the Citroen C5 Aircross, the upcoming SUV is set to be launched in India by July 2020. The C-segment premium SUV has been on sale internationally for a couple of years and it was spotted testing in our country for quite several times. Powering the global-spec Citroen C5 Aircross is a variety of engines, including a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.6-litre petrol, a 2.0-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. We’ll have to wait to see what kind of engines will be brought alongside the C5 Aircross to the Indian market in the coming months.
