Land Rover Defender V8 Unveiled - Full Details

The upcoming Land Rover Defender will get some significant styling and mechanic updates. It will derive power from the supercharged 5-litre V8 engine.

Land Rover Defender is about to get its first update ever since its launch. The new Defender will be available in two configurations, a three-door 90 and a five-door 110 version. Both of these versions come with a V8 engine.

Land Rover Defender will get the first update of its life

As far as we know, the V8 engine that powers the Defender is a supercharged 5-litre engine that churns out 525 PS of maximum power and 625 Nm of top torque. The power will be sent to all wheels via a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The V8 engine-5-speed manual gearbox combination is the only option that is available on the new Defender.

With the V8 supercharged engine, the Defender can run from standstill to 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds. The top speed the SUV can reach is 240 kmph. It should be noted that the Land Rover Defender’s suspension is tuned and fitted with bigger anti-roll bars as a way to tone down body rolls. It also comes with a standard feature of Electronic Active Rear Differential. A yaw controller is also provided to enhance cornering stability. In addition, the Terrain Response System is added with a new driving mode named Dynamic.

With regards to the design, the 2022 Land Rover Defender features massive 22-inch alloy wheels with Satin Grey finish, Xeon-Blue-finished brake callipers, V8 badges and more. The upcoming Land Rover Defender V8 will be offered with two-three exterior colour options which are Carpathian Grey, Yulong White, and Santorini Black.

New Land Rover Defender gets both cosmetic and mechanical updates

Land Rover is known for making highly competent offroader SUVs that also provide great comfort and convenience. This philosophy remains true with the upcoming Land Rover Defender V8. The interior of the new Defender gets premium Ebony Windsor leather upholstery. Moreover, Mike Suedecloth and Robustec are used to add some accents to the interior design. A multi-function four-spoke steering wheel covered in Alcantara leather emphasizes the premiumness of the design.

Apart from the standard model, Land Rover also offers the Carpathian Edition which features the dual-tone exterior that combines grey exterior paint with a contrasting black-out roof, hood and tailgate. Moreover, the exterior features a protective film with a semi-matte finish.

Another change on the new Defender is that that First Edition variant will be replaced with the new XS Edition. This variant gets a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system.
